BOZÜYÜK IN 2023 AND KAZAN INVESTMENT WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2024

Ciner Group CEO Gürsel Usta talked about glass packaging production investments. Usta said, “We are investing in two furnaces of 650 tons in Ankara Kazan. We are making our 3rd 500 tons furnace investment in Bozüyük. The sum of these investments will exceed $ 500 million. The investment will be completed in Bozüyük next year and in Kazan the following year.”

Ciner Group CEO Gürsel Usta was the guest of the Finance Center program presented by Bloomberg HT Editor-in-Chief Açıl Sezen. Making evaluations about the investments of the group, Usta said, “Our investment will continue at 3-4 main points.” Usta stated that with the additional investment of soda ash, job opportunities will be created for an additional 175 people, and employment will be provided for 1,000-1,200 people with the glass investment.

Stating that the investments will continue, Usta said: “We will increase our production by around 300 thousand tons next year on the side of soda ash. At the same time, we started the investment of 6th line. We have completed all the permit approval processes and the basic design. We are in the process of starting the construction. In addition, we will increase 600 thousand tons of capacity. Thus, we will produce about 5 million 800 thousand tons of products from Turkey and we will direct 90 percent of this to export.”

NEW INVESTMENT EXCEEDING $500 MILLION
Noting that the 6th line investment will be over $200 million, Usta continued his words as follows: “On the glass side we are investing in two 650-tonne furnaces in Kazan, Ankara. On the Bozüyük side, we are making our third furnace investment, 500 tons. The total of these investments will exceed 500 million dollars. The investment will be completed in Bozüyük next year, and in Kazan the following year.”
Stating that with the additional soda ash investment, employment will be created for an additional 175 people, Usta stated that 1,000-1,200 people will be employed in the glass investment.
Reminding that the group exported 725 million dollars last year, Ciner Group CEO Gürsel Usta said, “Our export potential will reach 1 billion dollars this year. It seems that we can easily manage this. The more important thing is that, we do our exports excluding freight. When there are 250 companies like us, they can make the total of Turkey’s export.”
